Spring... in black and white!

it's a sure sign Spring is on it's way... the Skunks are out.
This one was happily searching the grass in the backyard of todays job. I was a little concerned about getting out of the Jeep since it was less than 20ft away, but this guy was on a mission and I didn't seem to bother him.
btw, I took these photos from the safety of my vehicle. My husband saw a new baby lamb today, bouncing and dancing...too bad he doesn't carry a camera.

These 2 get pretty impatient when it comes time to feed. With all the snow we've got on the ground there's nothing to even nibble.
The barn and fence in the background couldn't be cropped out.... just a little bit of PS magic, spreading out the white, and the distractions are gone.

Winter Joy

They're beautiful animals, in any season.
Joy was snow covered, waiting for me to bring out the hay this morning.

snowhorses

Yesterdays blizzard brought with it frigid cold(+14f @ 1:35pm).. on the plus side, the winds are calm and we have plenty of sunshine.
The horses actually ventured away from the shed. Of course as soon as they spotted me they were on a dead run. From zero to 60... in 2.5 seconds!

first snow

2 days ago we had our first snow, it was so nice and pretty, giving the world that fresh clean look. Thats when I took these pictures.
Today it's quite a bit more hostile out there, bitter cold with blizzard conditions ...40mph winds. All that pretty snow is moving very quickly straight East.
And subzero temperatures are predicted for the next few days.
